Acne cystic Treament

Introduction:

A cyst is severe pus filled nodule-having diameter of 5 mm or more. This occurs if the blockage of the oil glands burst. Cysts are very painful and causes infection deeper to the skin and if not treated will aggravate the situation. In the long run the cyst may produce infection and as the infection are deep the cysts take a lot of time for reduction in size. Infections being deep do not come to the surface of the skin and hence there is a waste discharge problem and due to this problem the recovery is very slow and chances of scarring are always there.

Symptoms of cystic acne:

If the size of bump is large, you may feel pain often.  If you suffer from cystic acne, you need to know whether you are also suffering from acne scarring with persistent acne. Your acne may disturb you and you occasionally feel stress or anxiety. Sometimes you may also observe that your skin becomes darker due to your cyst acne. It is better to meet your dermatologist if you do not recover from over the counter medicine.

Acne treatment:

In any form of acne including cyst acne it is good to wash gently your face with mild non-drying soap removing dirt or dust from your skin. Washing your face once or twice a day is good but you should avoid repeated washing of your face as it may cause rubbing of the skin pores and that may aggravate your cyst acne. You should avoid rubbing and squeezing of your acne or cysts as this can lead to scarring of the skin infections.

Over the counter medicine:

Now days a lot of over the counter medicines are available and every person wants to have a try of these medicines before consulting to a dermatologist. Although none of the over the counter medicine is fully beneficial for cyst acne, however you can get a temporary relief. Over the counter medicines are either oral or topical. Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic oxide based formulations are amongst the most common over the counter medicines and have been found to relieve only from very mild acne. It is better to avoid these over the counter medicines and consult your dermatologist as soon as possible.

Medicines useful for acne:

If you have already consulted to a dermatologist, he or she might have recommended an antibiotic for you. Antibiotics are generally of two types one oral and another topical. Oral antibiotics include tetracycline and topical antibiotics include erythromycin. In addition to antibiotics some vitamin A derivatives such as retinoids are useful for treating severe cyst acne. Isotretinoin are generally not recommended to pregnant women as it causes birth defects. Birth control pills are also useful in controlling acne up to some extent.
