Beauty Inside and Out!

When the fall and winter months come along, you will find all sorts of articles on how to fix your hair and how to make you complexion glowing and the special lip gloss of the season. But one of the overlooked beauty problems of going into the cooler seasons is a lot of women are faced with unexplainable depression. This is something that our society has overlooked for far too long.

Some of the time we associate these feelings with stress in our lives or with the urgency to prepare for the holidays. But there are some extreme factors that may be over looked by this assumption.
Symptoms you should speak with your family doctor about:

Extreme Mood swings
(Extreme happiness that is out of your normal behavior) (Extreme Sadness that is out of your normal behavior)
What I like to call Caged animal disease
(Not wanting to leave the house, not talking on the phone to loved ones or friends, Feelings of anxiety on having to go to the store, run errands etc..)
Not grooming- (not taking a shower, not doing normal hygiene that you do on a normal basis)
Obsessive eating- (eating when your not hungry or refusing to eat at all)
Excessive Spending sprees-( spending money to the point as to put the family in financial danger)
Waterworks- (Crying for no relative reason and not having the ability to stop)
Unattainable Dreams or goals-( illusions of grandeur)
Concentration-( lacking the ability to stay focused and on track with a task or tasks.)
If you experience any of these listed symptoms during the fall and winter months you might be suffering from what is commonly known as Bi-Polar disorder.
It is thought that it is from lack of the suns light as in these months the earth is farther away from the sun.  Sunlight gives your body the Vitamin D it needs. Moderate sunlight can lessen depression, give you stronger bones, even increase resistance to breast cancer.

So during the times of the cooler seasons you might need some extra help to glide through with style. Some of the suggestions I have would be to:
Eat lots of Fish in your diet such as tuna, mackerel, lake trout, salmon. Because fish like these are high in Omega-3 Fatty Acids.  Which are proven to help in fighting depression.
Take time to eat lunch out in the sun on warm days in the fall. Instead of being couped up in your office or home pack a picnic and go for 15,30 to 45 minutes. However long you can take. You find that you feel refreshed and happier after soaking up the sun on a fall day.
If you do not get out much in the sun I recommend paying a visit to the tanning salon ONCE a week.  Only if your suffering from depression and I am saying only lay in there about 10-15 minutes. Don't go all crazy about a tan. That's not healthy. This is for the Vitamin D that you can get from exposure to UV light. Now if you have ever been diagnosed with a skin disorder or cancer, please stay out of the tanning bed and consult your physician.
Take your daily vitamin and drink lots of water. For hydration is key to a happier you.

I wrote this article because I suffer from the Bi-polar disorder.  I have suffered from this since I was a child.  Its hard to relate to  people with this disorder.  I was hoping that by writing this if you have a loved one or family member that might be experiencing these symptoms then help is around the corner.  As always consult your family physician, I am not a doctor just an experienced patient. Your doctor will be able to help you in so many ways. In closing it is always important to know that your beauty comes from inside. Yes there are wonderful remedies that can fix this and that. But if you do not feel or see the real beauty of you, it would be hard to put any beauty tips into effect. Please know ladies that there is others out there like you that cannot explain why they feel sad, so you are not alone.  And know there is no reason to ever put off helping your beauty inside or out!
