Home :: Beauty Articles :: Hair Dyeing Hair DyeingDo not aspire for a radical color change, for it does not suit to your face unless you change your makeup, dress color etc. For example the lipstick which is used to suit you as a blonde (pale or golden browny looking hair) or dress which is used to give your personality a lift up, may not suit you when you become blackhead. So dyeing also involves other expenses. Color of your hair should not be very different from the natural color of your hair. For instance if you have got golden or brown color then red or dark brown would go very well but not the dark black. To get a black tint in your dye use some coffee or tea leaves with your henna. Hair which has just had a perm may not take color and newly-colored hair may not perm well either. So do not worry if either of the two happens. Hence, avoid doing so. When dyeing your hair try out the effect on a cutting of hair first or under the ear. Since the ends of the hair are the most porous part and accept the dye more readily, so you can see the full effect before you take the plunge. Also the skin near the ear is very delicate, therefore, its reactions can be studied well. Henna dyes give dark hair a reddish color. But the exact color result is very difficult to predict so a test dye is very essential. Henna dye can be made following the under mentioned method: Henna powder 2 cups Hot water 1 cup Vinegar 1 tsp Stir them all to a thick paste and let this stand for 1 hour. Pour it into a bowl and put this bowl in a saucepan filled with water. Keep the paste stirring till the water in the bottom of the saucepan bubbles freely. Let the mixture stand for another hour, then apply the mixture into each strand of the hair by parting hair with a comb. Start applying henna from one side of the head and working to the other end. Leave the henna on your head for 3-6 hours. Do not use henna dye on blonde, grey or bleached hair. Treat the hair with balsam and protein conditioners before applying henna dye. Chamomile lightens dull brown hair. Infuse a handful of chamomile flowers in a cup of boiling water, leave for a few hours, then strain. Use this water as a rinse after shampooing. To apply the dye cover the hairline with vaseline and brush in henna with a small brush. Apply the henna from the roots to the end of the hair strands, going over the head in sections. Wrap the head with a polythene bag and put on a shower cap or cover it with a scarf. - By Renu Thapliyal Get $50. Participate in our article writing contest.
