In love with Lavender

In today's stressful busybody world, we would all love to take a vacation from stress practically every other moment. The benefits of spa treatments are widely praised and advertised. But who has the time and money to visit a spa every time we want to take a vacation from being a mother/father, husband/wife/lover/significant other, goal oriented, hard working, living, dreaming, and playing individual? I know I don't.

That's why my favorite getaway mini vacation is a long hot bath. Just to sit and soak for half an hour or better seems to make all my problems just fizzle away with the steam of my bath. Especially if you add lavender oil or even lavender scented bubble bath to the water.

My absolute favorite scent is lavender. Lavender is reported by various medical journals and studies on aromatherapy as being one of the most helpful scents to relax or even relieve insomnia, not to mention the wonderful aroma. Lavender aromatherapy can also help with headaches and tension as well as relieve muscle aches and pains when added to bath water. Lavender is also reputed as being a natural bug repellant and even encourages faster healing for some skin irritations.
Used and treasured by the ancient Egyptians as an ingredient in mummification as well as a perfume for the living, Lavender has been used in various cultures throughout the world since ancient times to promote relaxation.

So the next time you are sitting at your desk, at home, at school, at the office or waiting in your car during a traffic jam in the smoldering heat, think about the benefits of lavender as an inexpensive relaxing getaway. Carry a spray bottle with diluted lavender oil and water in your purse or car, even leave it in your desk so that you can access your lavender spa at any time you need it. Then on your way home when you are dreaming of a long hot bath/shower, remember to use lavender in your bath water or shower gel to give you a quality boost of relaxation.

Revitalize a bit tired skin by usin diluted vodka in chamomile solution and apply gently with a piece of cotton on the face and neck. Afterwards use some cosmetic milk on the same areas and then apply small amount of rose oil dilutted on carrer oil on the neck and face gently. Later I press face with a tissue to remove extra oil. Various flowers effect skin while dilluted vodka cleanses it. - Submitted by Natalia
