Hair Spray - Spray on Hair
Hair sprays are an essential hair accessory because they serve so many purposes and come very much in handy at the time of a “hair emergency”. You can count on them to rescue you from bad hair days, and are truly miracle products. Here’s why.
Adding volume
Limp, lifeless hair is a problem a lot of women have to contend with. When you haven’t washed your hair in a while, or when you feel everyday dirt and grime is weighing it down, it is very difficult indeed to get hair that has volume. This is where hair spray comes in. Spray it in short bursts all over parts of your hair that you feel needs a lifting. Use your hands to lift and create volume as you do so. Make sure, though, to not use a lot of hair spray since an excess of it can have the opposite effect, and weigh your hair down even more. Just the right amount of hairspray will leave your hair looking voluminous and thick.
Creating a style
Hair spray is a great asset in helping you to create a style. Spray it over damp hair while you are creating your style. It helps to lock the hair in place, and makes it easier for you to make your hair behave the way you want it to.
Keeping a style
When using hair spray to help keep a style, spray it generously all over dry hair. This is especially useful if, for instance, you’re travelling by car or someplace where your hair could get blown around, displacing its careful set. When hair spray is used over it, it makes sure that hair doesn’t shift. The more hairspray you use, the lesser your chances of any stray tendrils of hair escaping.
Homemade and Natural Hair Spray
Hair spray does not only have to be store-bought. You can make homemade hairspray both easily, and quickly.
You will need:
One lemon (or orange, if your hair is dry)
2 cups water
Rubbing alcohol
A spray bottle
Procedure:
Chop up the lemon. Place it in a pot with the 2 cups of water. Boil until half of the initial amount of water remains. Let it cool, and then strain it. Now place it in the spray bottle and store in the refrigerator. (If you think it is too sticky, you can add more water). Add an ounce of rubbing alcohol as a preservative, so you can store the spray for up to two weeks unrefrigerated.
