To help soften the glue that the nits/eggs use to attach themselves to the hair, follow the shampoo with a rinse of 1/2 warm water and 1/2 vinegar. Cover the scalp with a shower cap for 15-20 min. Comb the hair thoroughly with a special fine-toothed nit comb (available at pharmacies), and rinse thoroughly. The entire treatment can be repeated in a week if necessary. 3. Mix 1 teaspoon lime juice and1 teaspoon garlic, make into a paste and apply to hair. 4. A paste of bitter almonds applied on the head is a very good home remedy for the head lice. | I have come up with my own home remedy for head lice and it worked. I took prell shampoo, mayo, sea breeze, and herbal essence's conditioner. Mixed them all together and applied it to my hair. Covered it with a cap and let it sit for 4 hours. Then rinsed it out and combed it with a lice comb. You'll be amazed at what you see. | |
