| I have it for 6 years now. I found no antihistamine that works. I find it controllable with daily exercise and drinking lots and lots of water (2gal+) per day. Normally a morning jog or bike to work and the rest of the day I feel like a normal person. If not, I looks like a freak scratching my leg and arm and back and kneck and chest and leg again while I talk to my colleage at work. | |

| Try Dr. Batras in India. It is a homeopathic centre and they have medicine for that. There has been noticeable difference for people who has gone for the treatment for this illnes. I assume it will be of help. I have nothing to do with Dr Batra, so dont take it as a promotional thing.. Duration of medication may be long. I am not sure on that side. | |

| I had cholinergic urticaria since I was in the 8th grade and now I'm 21 in college. I found no medicines that will help much. However, just like another person said on here, forcing my sweat out helps get rid of the itching and hives for the rest of the day. For me, either running on the treadmill for the initial 10 minutes @ 7MPH or taking a hot bath and laying my whole body in the tube for about 5 minutes. It will get a little itchy at first but it stops for the whole day after that and I can enjoy going out in the summer or eating spicy foods. I just learned to deal with it and use my methods everyday to control it. | |

| I have had Cholinergic Urticaria for 1.5 years and have so far found no drugs which can help. I find exercising can actually help control it for me though. I start to itch initially when I break into sweat, whether this is caused by exercise, anxiety, eating hot food etc. When I exercise the itch normally lasts for 10 minutes and provided I exercise enough to build up a good sweat, the itching stops. I normally do 30 minutes on an exercise bike, with the heating on :) Just doing this can stops the hives for the rest of the day. I often do this shortly before I am about to do something where I will get hot i.e going out in hot weather, to warm pub, 10 pin bowling etc. If you try this I hope it helps, but it doesn't work for everyone. | |

| I have dealt with cholinergic urticaria, cold induced urticaria and exercise induced anaphylaxis now for nearly 20 years. I have literally been on almost every combination of medication with success here and there. Since March, I have COMPLETELY eliminated wheat from my diet, and have yet to see a hive since then. I also now following a histamine reduction diet (eliminate foods naturally found high in histamine like strawberries and chocolates). Yes, this is a crapy diet - no more fun foods, but the alternative is another 20 years of this darn condition. grashoppr50@hotmail.com. | |

| I also have cholinergic urticaria, I have yet not seen a dermatologist but my symptoms are exactly like this. When I exercise, I get itching, pricking feelings on my back, then stomach, legs and arms. It's awful!! I can't do anything physical in which I sweat even a bit, without feeling all this, and it really does stop me in my tracks and I have to sit until it goes away, generally 20 minutes or so. I know it is an overwhelming feeling all over my body. If anyone knows a way to cure this or make it, to where I can exercise again. Please email me at lustria.ice@comcast.net. Thank you! | |

| I have been diagnosed with cholinergic urticaria, but with everything I read it sounds to me like everyone experiences pain, and itching, on the other hand my rash is just there, stays for a month at a time, and is dominantly noticable after I exercise, stress out, or get out of a hot shower. I was wondering if there is anyone out there like me that experiences no pain or itching, or that there may be something else that the doctor is missing! | I have cholinergic urticaria. I am in my last twenties. Have been suffering from it since 2000. This condition comes and goes throughout the year. It hit me, present moment July, 2006, currently in this period, I consider it unbearable. My last unbearable period was in 2004. 2005 was still ok. This condition based on experience normally last for 1 to 2months. I have been taking Altarex at night and Lorentident in the day, 2 pills per consumption. This condition is terrible and is affecting my life and my normal routine, I have since stopped all the activities that i feel will aggregate this condition. I get it when I am in a stuffy hot place, when I am walking in the morning, afternoon and at times evening (when there is no wind), when I take spicy or hot food, when I am nervous or excited, when I laugh vigourously, when I exercise ofcourse, etc. Its like a "needle poking" session, I can feel it coming when my chest, arms, thighs starts to heat up. Then many little small spots (lesion) will appear on the arms, forearms, chest, and thigh. To get rid of them, I will be rushing into a really airconditioned room or area, and the spots will disappear within say 15-20mins. But the "needle poking" sensation will persist. Just wish to share my experience with the rest. Do let me know if there is any medicines or treatment in the market to help, because according to my skin doctor, there isn't any in the market that can cure cholinergic urticaria, but there are many to reduce or subdue this condition. Please do advice. My email is kohtyo@hotmail.com, KID OK - 2006-08-14. Thank you. | |
