Vitamin Cream to nourish skin

Niz | Homemade Recipes & Remedies | Thursday, 21 April 2005

Here is how to prepare a “vitamin cream” to nourish your skin:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon emulsifying wax
  • 1 tablespoon lanolin
  • 3 tablespoons wheat germ oil (or two Vitamin E capsules)
  • 3 tablespoons carrot oil (or two Vitamin A capsules)
  • 6 tablespoons distilled water
  • 1/2 teaspoon borax
  • 2 drops tincture of benzoin
  • a few drops of orange-flower oil

Melt the waxes and oils over a water bath, and at the same time in a separate bowl, dissolve borax in warm water. Quickly add water to the oils, and beat until it cools slightly, then add tincture of benzoin and continue beating until you get a thick nourishing cream. When mixing vitamin capsules, simply prick the capsules and add the contents.

Hope you like the above vitamin cream to nourish your skin.

Shine Control?

Niz | Beauty | Wednesday, 13 April 2005

Do you have oily skin? Do your cheeks, chin and forehead get really shiny? Here are some tips to shine control:

  • Try a gentle cleanser (like Cetaphil), a light toner, & a light moisturizer to keep your skin matte during the hot weather.
  • Aloe vera is good at controlling oil, green tea also helps, and so does the tea tree oil face wash.
  • Try using those powders that control shine. You may get yourself a tea tree oil powder that reduces shine.
  • Also you may start using cleansing wipes to combat oiliness.
  • You can get lavender water in a spray bottle and spray it on your face through out the day.
  • Try using apple cider, vinegar as a face cleanser, use it 50/50 or even more diluted if you have sensitive skin. Use a balancing water based moisturizer, dot it on your cheeks, forehead and chin and rub it in a circular motion.

To loosen blackheads begin by washing your face with a mild face wash. Now combine equal parts baking soda and water in your hand and rub gently on your skin for two to three minutes. Rinse with warm water. This will reduce those blackheads. Alternatively, you could also try and use a blackhead removal strip. They are easily available in the market.

Ice Magic

Niz | Beauty | Saturday, 09 April 2005

When you get in from the hot sun, your eyes are tired and blood-shot. You also develop dark circles and shadows due to heat and pollution. Try this. Wash your face. Take some ice cubes and wrap them in two pieces of muslin. Lie down and shut your eyes. Place one ice cube pack over each eye, rubbing gently. This will immediately ease the ‘burnt up’ skin feeling. Regular use helps to lighten the dark circles under the eyes or even remove them.
