What to do about oily skin?
If you have oily skin and you’d like to do something about this condition, here are some good tips for you:
Cleanse only two or three times at the very most with a product made for your skin type. Washing more often will only strip the skin of oil which simply stimulates the oil glands to replace it.
Rinse thoroughly and then finish off with a toner/astringent on the oily areas of your skin. The astringent can be used throughout the day to help control the excess oil that appears.

I have oily skin and I only cleanse only once per day. If I cleanse more I usually end up irritating and over drying the skin.
I have also learned that exfoliating the skin with a mild scrub that is in the cleanser is very effective at removing dead skin cells and that “dirty” feeling that oily skin gives me. Of course the scrub/cleanser I use is also completely 100% natural and has natural moisturizers in it that leave my skin feeling very soft but not oily or greasy.
Because of my oily skin I have to be very careful what I use for cleansers, moisturizers and yes, makeup too. I have found that the closer I can get to all natural ingredients the less my chances of a break out.
Hope this can help anyone!
Cleansing oily skin (or any skin type, for that matter) more than two times daily is a big no, no! Using astringents/toners isn’t such a great idea either. Most of them are full of drying alcohols and other harsh ingredients like dyes and frangrances. If you still want to use toner, try an alochol free one; it’ll refresh the skin without (or at least less) irritation. Instead of using the toner throughout the day t soak up excess oil, try blotting papers (Clean & Clear have great ones); they take up less room in your purse/pocket and are much more convenient.
I too suffer from extremely oily skin. I’ve tried many products, but still haven’t found that miracle cure, and I doubt I ever will. I agree with tammy… blotting papers are a great way to quickly mop up, but can get tedious through-out the day. It also baffles some of the guys as they seem to all think you’re sand-papering your face! Anyways, Astringents I guess are too strong for certain people, but helps. I also find that a light dusting of good ol’ baby powder helps before leaving the house… just don’t go over the top!
I suffered from oily skin, but i recently bought oil control paper which is really good. All you do is take a paper, rub it on your face, especially your T-zone, and then throw the paper away! The paper absorbs the excess oil on the skin to prevent it from looking and feeling oily. Its so easy! And you can take the paper wherever you go! Trust me you guys, it really works! =D
yh i agree oil controll papers help alot and they are cheap lol .i have oily skin aswell and i recomend you try a oil free cream from avon its really works use it after cleansing and in the mornin and during the day your skin is oil free .

im thru it now, blackheads ooohh its awful
what cream do i use?
I have spots but I have now switched to 100% natural and homemade products. I used one just now and it really helped and it got rid of loads of my spots!!! Yey!! Here are the ingredients of my ‘Oat Facepack’
-2 tablespoons of oats
-2 tablespoons of ground almonds
-2 teaspoons of mashed cucumber
-2 teaspoons of tomato juice (i just mushed the tomato and got the juice and seeds)
-As much milk (or cream) as you need to get it pastey like.
I hope that helps! I also drink loads of water and that really helps. Plus salads for lunch everyday made my skin really clear. For oily skin make sure you use a toner, but only on the oily bits.
