Moisturizing Milks

abrogers | Beauty | Thursday, 29 December 2005

Skin is a very important organ of the body and it should be given the attention and care that it deserves. There are many ways that one can take care of their skin and the best way to do it is to know your skin type. There are different types of skin such as dry skin, oily skin, normal etc. and you need to know as to what is your type in order to know as to what products you can use for your skin and can help you to select different creams, lotions and moisturizers etc.

There are many external factors that affect your skin such as heat, cold, light, fumes, dust, and you can keep track of your skin by looking at your skin regularly in the mirror, which will help you keep track of the changes your skin is going through.

I have already written a few articles on skin because I believe that this is something that really needs to be cared for and have discussed ways with which we can take care of it.

You can always look for the products that are best for your skin by choosing the brands, which have been effective for your skin and have benefited you before. While buying a moisturizer, you can always look for the small packing and can check whether it suits your skin or not.

Moisturizers are a pretty important component of taking care of your skin. The best moisturizers are those, which are not greasy and are made from natural ingredients. The moisturizers penetrate the upper layers of your skin and provide the necessary nutrients and moisture to your skin.

As it is evident by the name, moisturizers provide your skin with the moisture it needs because the exposure of sun on the skin dries it up and this causes creases and wrinkles to appear on the skin and moisturizer just prevents them from forming.

I am just going to list a few moisturizers according to the skin type that you can use:

For dry and sensitive skin you can use Milk of Avocado, Milk of Banana, Milk of Calendula, Milk of Mandarine.

For normal skin you can use Milk of Avocado, Milk of Banana, Milk of Mandarine and Milk of Papaya.

For oily skin you can use Milk of Aloe and Milk of Mandarine.

Just try these different kinds of moisturizers on your skin and I believe that you will be able to find a significant difference from before and you skin will be healthy and young as ever.

Have fun on our forums. You got to love it ;)

These are some homemade beauty remedies, which are going to help you look and feel good.

Today we are going to tell you as to how black or green tea brew can help you look so fresh and young, as well as it many other benefits, which you might not have known.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of unscented black or green tea leaves.
1 quart water in a pan.

Procedure:

Brew about 1/2 a cup of unscented black or green tea leaves in one quart of boiling water for at least 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, you need to strain the leaves and put them aside. The next step would be to cool the brewed water on room temperature for a while and then place it in the refrigerator. You have to keep the brewed water in the refrigerator for approximately 10 days.

Usage And Benefits Of The Brewed Tea Water

Cuts & Scrapes: You need to take out a very little amount of cold tea brew in a container depending how large or small the cuts and scrapes are, and then you need to soak the cotton in the brewed water and apply the cotton on the cuts and scrapes. You then need to leave the cotton pad on the affected area for at least 5 minutes. Remember, you do not need to wash off. You can repeat the process up to four times a day and you can see the benefits of it yourself.

Sunburns: Take out a small quantity of the cold tea brew in a container depending upon the area of sunburns and then apply a piece of cotton cloth, which has been soaked in the cold tea brew to the sunburned area. You can leave the cotton cloth there for about a good 15-20 minutes or until you feel that the burned area begins to cool down. This process can be repeated four to five times a day and see the difference yourself.

Puffy & Fatigued Eyes: Take out a small quantity of the cold tea brew in a container, then soak the cotton pads in the brew and gently apply them on your eyes. You can keep the pads on your lids for about at least 10 minutes. As another alternative, teabags can also be refrigerated and placed on eyes as well.

Tired Feet: Take out a small quantity of the cold tea brew in a container, now you can soak your feet in the cold tea brew for about a 15-20 minute period of time. You can always treat your feet with the cold tea brew on days when you have had a long day standing and walking or running.

What Are The Changes That Skin Undergoes During Pregnancy & How Can You Take Care Of Those Concerns?

abrogers | Beauty Problems | Wednesday, 21 December 2005

There are a whole lot of changes that your body undergoes during pregnancy and your skin does too. The things that your skin experiences during pregnancy are melasma, acne, varicose veins as well as stretch marks, which make for the most common problems that women encounter during their pregnancy. The doctors state that these skin problems can be dealt with even before or after pregnancy and are certainly treatable and are not something as permanent that would make you a whole lot concerned about.

We will discuss a few of the problems that are related to skin during pregnancy. One of them is melasma. Melasma is brown pigmentation of the skin around your eyes, cheeks, and can also occur above the lip. The reason with which these changes occur is completely hormonal related to the pregnancy, which occur on the skin in the form of dark pigments. These pigments enhance when they are exposed to sunlight.

You can avoid melasma during pregnancy. For this, you need to wear an broad spectrum sunscreen, which contains titanium, zinc and Parsol 1789. Some women might think that they do not go outside much and they would be safe from melasma, but you should remember that even a little exposure to sun can cause melasma.

Just to make a note here, if you were to develop melasma during pregnancy, you can ask your dermatologist about a skincare regimen that consists of alpha-hydroxy acids or retinoids after you have given birth. The way these products work is that they speed up the process of exfoliation and thus help shed the darker cells. For cases that are hard to clear, you can get a prescription of low to moderate potency of steroid creams, sometimes you can combine this with a series of glycolic-acid peels, which can range anywhere from 3 to 10 depending on the severity of the condition.

Some might think that laser can help melasma, but they might exacerbate the condition by making the affected area darker.

Another condition that is encountered during pregnancy is varicose veins, spider veins and broken blood vessels. This happens because your blood volume increases during pregnancy and there is also pressure exerted by the baby on your veins. There is a chance that they will disappear but some might remain.

In order to treat the broken blood vessels on the face, you may need to consider laser treatment, since it is safe and can be effective on the face in only one treatment. For the legs, there is another option known as sclerotherapy. In this procedure there is a special chemical that is injected into the varicose veins that causes it to close. In order to prevent the varicose veins, a support hose may help a little.

These were some distinctive features that seem to affect the skin. In our upcoming articles, we will discuss more on these things and provide you with best possible solutions.

Let Us Help You Get Rid Of Acne & Make You Beautiful

abrogers | Beauty Problems, Skin Disorders | Tuesday, 20 December 2005

Introduction:

Acne is a problem in growing kids all over the world and the milder forms of acne is being treated and the severe forms leave the skin with pretty bad scars. Let us have a look over what can be done for this disfiguring problem.

Keep Your Skin Clean:

For all skins - You need to care for your skin and for that matter you need to wash your face with a cleanser, which is gentle to feel, has oil and a fragrance-free cleanser, it would be preferred if the cleanser is non-detergent and which has a balanced pH value marked on its label.

Oily skin - If you are a person with an oily skin, you need to have a cleanser that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. You need to care that you do not scrub the skin because it will irritate the skin and the skin will swell around the pores and this can cause a breakout on skin. Do not use an oil toner unless your skin is oily because otherwise it will dry your skin out and that might be irritating.

Treat Your Skin:

You need to apply very gently the topical treatment for acne, which contains benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid or salicylic acid over your entire face and not only to those areas, which have eruptions on them.

It is important that at night time you should use a drying spot treatment product and dab oil, which does not have moisturizes in it on the dry areas and in the morning you must apply sunscreen, which is free from oil over your entire face.

Makeup Tips To Conceal The Marks:

In order to conceal the spots of acne, you can use a makeup brush, with soft edges to dab cream foundation, which should be the exact same shade of your skin directly on the areas of acne. If you think that you have dabbed excess concealer or foundation over those areas, you can clear them out with the use of your fingertip if you feel necessary.

If the makeup becomes cakey you can carefully wipe it off and need to start over. You need to gently brush powder, which is the same shade that is of your skin.

A Piece Of Advice:

If you are a person with a skin, which is oily and you feel that your skin needs application of a toner, you can apply it on the T-zone and then leave it there for a few and rinse it off afterwards, because if you leave it on the skin, it will dry it off. A clay mask is something very suitable for oily skin as it absorbs the excess amount of oil and you can apply it three days in a week.

If you have a business meeting or you need to go to a wedding or something of an important nature is coming up, you can ask your doctor to give you a cortisone shot, which would calm the pimple down instantaneously.
If somehow you are unable to come in contact with your dermatologist or your healthcare provider, and you need to reduce the redness and swelling of the acne eruptions, you can get cortisone cream, Preparation H or Vasocon-A eye drops from the drug store and can apply it on the areas of increased redness and swelling and it will calm your skin down instantly as well temporarily.

Hope the things we discussed in today’s article would help you with your skin care and taking care of the problems with acne.

There are many creams and lotions are present in the market, which say that they make the skin soft and smooth and give it a younger look. On the other hand, with a little effort you can make your skin much soft and smooth with these homemade recipes.

STRAWBERRY FACIAL MASK:

Nature of Skin:

This mask is used for oily skin.

Clean the strawberries in tap water and let them dry for a little while in room air. When the strawberries are dry, you need to take either a spoon or fork to mash it. Then add three tablespoons of honey in the strawberry mash and mix it for a few and then leave it for a while till it gets a little thick. Then after that apply it gently on your skin and leave it on your skin for about ten to fifteen minutes and after that rinse your skin with cool water.

A New Wonder In Science (Face Transplant)

abrogers | Beauty | Friday, 16 December 2005

Recently in France there was a procedure being carried out, known as transplantation of the face. We have all seen a movie known as “Face Off” and it just looked like a science fiction thing, but that has come into reality. This operation was carried out on a woman’s face and this is the first partial face transplant. Her views after seeing herself were that she is really amazed to see her new face and has no regrets that she has gone through the operation.

The circumstances under which the woman was transplanted with the partial face were that she was mauled by her own dog, Labrador, under circumstances still unclear. In that attack the woman lost her mouth, lips and chin and her face was completely disfigured.

Her comment after seeing herself in the mirror was, “It was amazing to see a nose and mouth on my face again.”

This revolutionary operation took place last month in which the doctors grafted a nose, chin, lips from a donor who was brain dead onto her face.

According to the woman there are still no sensations on her face because of the nerves not yet working well.
This is an amazing step in the world of science, as it has provided a reason to live for a person who could have lived in a room closed shut and all depressed, but now has another chance to live a normal life and move around the malls where there is no fear that she couldn’t move around with people anymore and the biggest fear that she might try to commit suicide.

I believe that this procedure will help a lot of people who have disfiguration of their face through diseases or injuries can now have another chance to get theirselves back in shape where they can live a normal life and come out under the clouds of depression and isolation.

Salute to all the researchers and scientists working for the betterment of humanity.

Topics Related To Beauty Concerns

abrogers | Beauty Problems | Wednesday, 14 December 2005

In today’s article, I am going to discuss a few of the most common concerns that we normally encounter in our day to day life.

Dark Circles: The first thing that needs to be prioritize here is dark circles under the eyes. The dark circles under our eyes are because of decreased blood flow in the areas underneath the eyes, as well as loss of fat around the eyes that gives a shape to our eyes. These dark circles grow more along with aging.

There are products available in the market like creams, which contain vitamin K and retinol that lighten up the dark circles under the eyes. For people with severe pigmentation the dermatologists mostly prescribe lightening creams, chemical peels or laser resurfacing, and the choice depends on how severe the dark circles are.

The lightening agents are hydroquinone and kojic acid. The process with which the lightening agents work is gradual, as it takes time to train the cells under the eyes to produce less pigments, thus preventing dark circles underneath the eyes.

The chemical peels and laser resurfacing remove the damaged cells and thus making the pigmentation less visible.

Every process should be carried out under the guidance of a professional in order to prevent any damage to the skin of the eyes.

Unwanted Hair: This is a pretty common issue among both men and women with unwanted hair on their face or body. There are many treatments with which the unwanted hair are removed.

Laser hair removal is one process in which the hair is destroyed in the active growing stage.

Electrolysis is another process with which current destroys the root of hair.

There are creams that one can buy from the market, such as Vaniqa that blocks hair growth.

Another process, which is used in the process of removing unwanted hair is waxing. In waxing, the hair is ripped out of the follicles.

There are also creams available that just remove the hair by dissolving them and this effect lasts for several days to a max of about two weeks, by which time the hair grow out again.

Stretch Marks: Stretch marks are also a widely discussed and looked for topic. This appears in people who are obese, who lose a couple of pounds, after pregnancy etc. in which there are lines on the skin, which might be either red or brown and appear like a scar.

The lines then ultimately fade but do not go away. To take care of that there is laser treatment that improves their appearance. Retinoic acid creams also improve these stretch marks.
I hope you will find a few of these things discussed today pretty useful. Take care of yourself.

Getting A Tattoo

abrogers | Beauty | Monday, 12 December 2005

A tattoo is a design that is made on skin. This is a widely growing trend among young people and one can get whatever design one wants to be made, rose, dragons, books etc.

To classify tattoos, there are two kinds, one is temporary and the other is permanent. Temporary as is being obvious by its name is the one that can be removed. Permanent tattoos are made with needles and the dye is being injected by puncturing the skin, and as is explained in the science books, the dye is being taken up by the cells under the skin, which are known as macrophages and that is why they are permanent, but there are techniques that are there to remove them, but there are no guarantees to that and it is very costly too.

Tattoos are made with needles, and thus it is of prime importance that if you want to have a tattoo, you should first make a choice of a professional from whom you will be getting that tattoo made, because the professionals take extreme care of their instruments and they do not use needles that have been already used. Getting tattoos from professionals might be a bit expensive, but honestly speaking their care can prevent you from having highly infectious diseases such as hepatitis, AIDS, etc.

The needles with which the tattoos are made, puncture the skin for about 50 to 3000 times a minute, thus making it a painful process. The professionals know as to how deep they are going to puncture the skin, which results in an even and uniform distribution of dyes in the skin during the process of making a tattoo and this also determines the fact that as even the dye is placed into the skin, as easy it would be to remove the tattoo, as well as the choice of colors because yellow and blue are the most difficult ones to remove.

This entire process is an art. The person with most tattoos on his body lives in Scotland and his name is in the Guinness Book of World Records. That guy even has tattoos on his eyes and he has got himself a look of a leopard. Wow.

The process of getting a tattoo is painful, but the process of getting it removed is much much painful than that and results in a whole lot pain, with no guarantee that it will be removed successfully or not. As a standard the tattoos are removed by laser technology. So a person must think twice before getting a tattoo, as this would not only be painful but would be pretty costly too, as if anything goes wrong in the process of removing them that might lead to doctor’s visits and prescription medications.

I hope you enjoyed reading this article. Choice is yours.

Dandruff, Gives A Bad Feeling And A Bad Image

abrogers | Hair, Skin Disorders | Saturday, 10 December 2005

Dandruff is the shedding of the epithelial dead cells that fall off from the scalp. The dandruff just falls off like flakes from the hair to shoulder. On an average the scalp skin replaces itself after about every 28 days, but if the turn over increases, it speeds up to about every 11-14 days and the problem of dandruff worsens. Some people say that this problem is caused by dry skin, but the truth is that the people with oily skin have the most dandruff. As a fact Pityrosporum ovale, yeast, is the normal flora of the scalp skin and is believed to be a cause of dandruff.

Is there a cure for dandruff? This is the answer what most people seek for and they try a whole array of things to handle this problem. We are going to share a list of things that are present in the market and people have benefited from different products, whichever helped them the best.

1. Zinc pyrithione shampoos, present in the market under the brand name of Suave Shampoo, Head & Shoulders, and Zincon. These products have shown to reduce Pityrosporum ovale and thus reducing dandruff and seborrhea.

2. There are tar-based shampoos, which include T-Gel, Z-Tar, Ionil T. They also reduce itch.

3. There is another category containing salicylic acid shampoos like T-Sal, Ionil, and Sebulex, which help reduce dandruff.

4. Selsun or Exsel are selenium-sulfide based shampoos. Selenium sulfide kills yeast and inhibits cell turnover.

5. As a last resort we can use ketoconazole or Nizoral shampoo, which has anti-yeast effects.

The most important thing that needs to be discussed here is that you don’t need to feel disappointed if a specific product did not work for you, you should try different products to see what helps you the best and then use that product according to the instructions written on it.

How To Protect & Add Vigor To Your Skin

abrogers | Beauty | Thursday, 08 December 2005

Skin is one of the most vital organ of our body and it should given the care that it deserves as it is a major barrier that prevents any organisms to get into our body. Our skin is to our body as ozone is to Earth.

These are the following things that need to be done every day to protect the skin:

1. Protect your skin from the sunlight – Why is it being said that protect your skin from sunlight? The basic reason for saying that is the fact that due to the damage in the ozone layer there are ultraviolet rays that pass through the ozone and hit the surface of the earth. The ultraviolet rays are not only damaging to our skin but can also cause cancer. So in order to protect our skin from them, we need to apply sunscreens to block these rays to prevent any hazardous effects to our skin. Not only you can apply sunscreens, you can also get yourself window glasses that prevent ultraviolet rays from entering your homes, car etc.

2. Creams with retinols – The retinols are fairly effective in preventing the wrinkles and creases from forming. So if you have wrinkles you can always choose a cream that has retinols in it and that would prevent the wrinkles from forming. Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A. Use the cream during the daytime and then at day’s end you can wash your face and apply moisturizer. This will give your skin a soft texture.

3. Skin under your eyes – The skin under your eyes is the most delicate skin and it is much drier than the rest of the skin. You can apply emollient moisturizer around your eyes. There are some eye cream products that say they minimize dark circles and tighten up the facial lines temporarily.

4. Body Lotions – When you want to buy body lotions, always choose lotions with alpha-hydroxy acids as you can apply the lotion on all your body and it just makes your skin soft and smooth. You can apply extra lotion at spots, which are more dry and let the lotion soak there.

I hope these few tips would help you in taking care of your skin. Get lots of skin care tips here.
