CARROT MASK:

Ingredients:

1-2 large carrots
5 tablespoons of honey

Instructions To Prepare Carrot Mask:

Boil the carrots in a pan of water to the point where they are pretty easy to mash. You can feel the consistency going soft by probing them with a fork to check whether it is ready to be mashed. Then allow the carrots to cool off a little by taking them out of the pan. Then mash it down to the point where you see small fine pieces of carrots or mash them a little more to achieve more smaller and fine pieces and then mix those pieces together with a spoon or fork and after that add about 5 tablespoons of honey and then mix it well. Now you can apply the mask gently to your skin and leave it there for about 10 minutes and then rinse your skin with cool water.

APPLE MASK:

Ingredients:

1 large apple
5 tablespoons of honey

Instructions To Prepare Apple Mask:

Peel off apple’s skin and then boil it in water to the point where you feel that the consistency of apply is soft and it would be easy to grate the apple into a fine paste. Then take the apple out of the boiling water, allow it to cool a little and then mash it down till it turns into a paste. Now you can add about 5 tablespoons of honey to the paste and mix it. Now the mask is ready to be applied on skin. Apply the mask gently on the skin and leave it there for about 10 minutes and then rinse your skin with cool water.

Just feel as to how refreshing and alive your skin gets after you have applied these masks, they are homemade, very cheap and are brilliant for skin. Do try them out.

How Much Do You Care For Your Body Image

How do you feel about yourself when you look in a mirror? The feeling that you are having now is exactly how you feel about yourself and a person’s perception about themselves is of great importance as to how they look, as this is deeply rooted into one’s self confidence and self respect.

Do you feel comfortable the way you look? If not, what are you doing to get yourself back in shape? If you are not feeling comfortable about yourself and you are not doing anything to fix it, then you are in trouble, because there is a state of conflict inside you that is bugging you all the time to do something about it and you try to quiet those voices inside, but they ask you to stand up and do something about it and I believe that you will do it when you convince yourself to take care of that. I believe that you can.

The first and foremost step that comes into play here is that you look at yourself in the mirror in all angles and then weigh yourself and you will see that where you are according to the standards mentioned regarding height and weight ratio and proportion. Start writing a journal and document your body weight and if possible attach a picture of yourself on a weekly basis to the journal to see what changes are being brought about.

After this step, just start looking at your diet as to what you are eating on a day to day basis and how many calories you are consuming and see what are the foods that you need to cut down. Controlling diet is one of the major steps in bringing about a change to the way you look. Count your grams and watch very carefully as to what you are eating, just remember “You Will Look To What You Eat.”

Start exercising a few minutes every day and then gradually increase it day by day. Don’t expect that you will see an overnight change, it is a slow and gradual process, but the results are definitely positive. It mostly depends on your level of commitment and dedication to yourself.

There will be days when you will be down, at those times do see your pictures that you are clipping to your journal and extract all the motivation from it that you don’t want to look like that and you need a change and remember the words, “I Can, I Will.” Remember this is your fight and your determination will make you win it.

Everyday starts with its own challenges, but one thing that is I am sure of is that we don’t have enough time on our end and we need to run things in fast pace so that everything just lines up in order and in an organized way. Today I am going to discuss the 10 ways we can get ourselves fixed up in the least possible time.

1-Moisturize your skin – Apply the moisturizer on your skin at night and wash your face when you are getting dressed up to hit the road and this will give your skin a younger and fresh look.

2-Another very important thing is deep breathing and a few stretches in the morning, which will just give the body a good circulation through and movements on joints will give your body a good warm up and will result in a pretty fresh start of your day.

Preventing Acne

What is acne?

Our skin secretes an oil called “sebum”, which is being produced in hair follicles and it travels up to the surface of the skin and lubricates and protects the skin. When the oil is being secreted in excess amounts, some times the oil gets trapped into the hair follicles. The pores that get clogged are called blackheads or whiteheads, and that creates an environment, which allows the growth of bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes. This bacterium then further causes the inflammation of the hair follicle and reddens the skin surface causing acne.

How to prevent acne from spreading?

Acne is not a serious problem, but it can become pretty serious if not enough care is taken of it. It mostly involves the face, back, and it is pretty painful. The best way to deal with it is to take a few precautionary measures and to be patient with it.

1. Do not pop, squeeze or pick at the acne lesion. This can spread and worsen the situation.
2. Wash your face twice daily with soap or a sulfur soap. Pat your face dry and not rub it.
3. Always use non-comedogenic products to prevent formation of blockage of the hair follicles.
4. Do not use oil-based products.
5. Do not rub on the acne if you have an urge to scratch it.
6. Apply anti-acne products and give them time to clear up the lesions. This might take several weeks to months.

What medications to use?

The most common medication that is used for acne is benzyl peroxide, which is an over-the-counter topical treatment. It is applied once or twice daily and it takes time to take its effect so the person applying it must be patient to obtain the results from it. There are other antibiotics that are taken orally, which are prescription medications such as erythromycin, tetracycline etc. For severe cases of acne, doctors prescribe Accutane as the drug of choice.
