Shaving TipsThe major regret of being a man, to every man, is his stubble. And the trouble he has to go through shaving it. It has all the potential to give you the rightly called ‘Morning Blues’. Here are some simple shaving tips that will help make your shaving experience a pleasurable one:

• Firstly, select your razor wisely. There are different types of razors available. Select one that best suits your needs and type of hair growth.

• Keep your face clean and dirt free. Cleanse it before shaving. This helps open the pores before the shave and provides a much closer shave.

• Don’t forget to wet your beard thoroughly. It helps by softening the hair and making for the razor to cut it easily. If you are using mechanical razors, prefer shaving after the shower.

• Use warm water if possible. It is much more soothing and helps to open up the pores. You may also get a quick face massage which will help in softening the beard.

• Selecting the right type of shaving cream is also a very important step. There are various types of creams and gels also available in the market. There are also foams that help a lot. Depending on what suits your skin the best, make your choice.

• Apply a generous amount of cream. Use a foaming brush. It helps the cream to go between the hairs and soothe the skin. Also, it facilitates even application of the cream.

• When shaving, prefer to use short strokes with the grain (with the grain means in the direction of the hair growth).

• Also, don’t keep on shaving over a part that has already been shaven. It will rub your skin and cause skin irritation. It may also cause redness or rashes. Worse, you may get cut.

• After you are done shaving, wash your face off any excess cream. It will clear your face of soap.

• Use a good moisturizer after shaving.

• Avoid an after-shave with alcohol content. Alcohol causes skin to loose moisture.

• If possible, use Aloe-Vera over the skin. It is an excellent skin revitaliser.

The summer is here. With it comes your daily package deal of acne, pimples, blemishes and the sunburns. Here are some vital tips that will help you beat the summer blues and keep you looking clean and fresh.

Summer Skin Care

• Avoid heavy make-up in summer.
• Avoid oil-based foundations. They attract more dirt and make your skin look greasy.
• Summer is good time for those creamy lipsticks. Reserve the darker shades for evening free. Prefer the glossy light ones that are perfect for those nude looks.
• Apply some good mud packs. They will help revitalise your skin.
• Use a sunscreen everyday with a minimum of SPF 15.
• Use a good moisturizer. The sun makes you sweat a lot, making your skin dry.
• Stay out of the sun. It increases your sebum production making your skin oily.
• Drink lots of water through the day, not only to replenish moisture lost to the heat and sweat but also to help flush toxins out of the body and keep skin looking clear and lustrous.
• Eat fruits, vegetables and herbs, which supply the skin with essential nutrients and come with free-radical fighting antioxidant properties while they help keep your skin cool. Carrots, lettuce, summer squash such as zucchini, celery, asparagus and leafy greens are good vegetable choices. Sweet juicy fruits such as pears, grapes, watermelon and mangoes both nourish and cleanse.
• Go easy on your diet. Avoid spicy and oily food; instead eat lots of fruits and salads. You will feel and look fresher.
• Go easy on spicy or sour foods, especially if you plan to go out and enjoy the sun for the day, to keep your skin from breaking out or getting inflamed.
• Milk is a cooling beverage that also supplies nutrients to your skin and helps to keep it from drying out. Drink at least a cup daily.
• Sleep, Sleep, Sleep, Sleep, and a little more sleep. Get as much rest as you can. It helps in rejuvenating your skin.
• The cold water treatment does wonders. Splash your face, hands and legs with cold water when you come back from the days work. It will no only clean you up, but also serve as a refreshing freshener.

Plastic Surgery Using Sea Coral As Implants

abrogers | Beauty | Friday, 20 April 2007

There are a lot of breakthroughs that have been put forward by the medical sciences in the field of cosmetic surgery and there are still a great of work being done to make the operations less invasive and more friendlier to patients. The recent development in the field of cosmetic surgery is the development of a naturally occurring material known as block hydroxyapatite that enhances the number of cosmetic and reconstructive applications.

This ingredient is derived from the coral deposits under the sea and is considered to be one of the few substances that contain such strength, as well as can be used to build the implants for cosmetic surgery. Another good part of this substance is that it can be contoured enough so that it conforms to the different shapes and sizes that are needed for the implants to be designed.

This agent is naturally porous and this allows the growth of the surrounding tissue into the Furthermore, it is naturally porous, which means the surrounding tissue can grow into the structure that is being provided by the coral and thus becomes the living part of the facial skeleton. On the other hand if the plastic structures are used instead of the coral, there is a chance that there might be the development of infection around the implant. As the body accepts the coral material and considers it a part of its body, it just eliminates the potential for infection or rejection.

During the surgical procedure, the implant is inserted through discrete incisions inside the mouth, which then decreases the visibility of the scars and promotes rapid healing. There is occasional swelling and tenderness that can be seen after the operation, but it takes about a week or so when the patient just returns back to the normal life.

In this procedure, the surgeon is just able to give the shape to the face in any direction or in any way that they want to. The doctors add that they as a natural process, all of our faces shorten as we age, but if there is about 4 to 5 mm addition to the length of the face, this can just give us a young look and we can look about 10 to 20 years younger.

Thus this discovery has brought about a big breakthrough in the field of cosmetic surgery and there are a lot of people who can take a great deal of benefit from these procedures and make their lives take a turn for good.
