How to Have a Lindsay Lohan Hairstyle

While Lindsay Lohan is most known for bringing red hair back into style, she has also changed her hair color many times. Lindsay Lohan has changed her hair color so many times it can often be difficult to keep up with what her current hairstyle is. Some colors of Lindsay Lohan’s hairstyle have included blonde, brunette and redhead. Thankfully she has great hairstylists to make sure her hair stays in great condition during these color changes. So how can you manage great hair while changing color? Consider some of the following tips.

Changing From Brunette to Blonde

You will need to use bleach if you are going to lighten your hair any more than three shades. The hydrogen peroxide in bleach removes the natural pigment from your hair. Bleach is not only damaging to your hair but it is also permanent. Every six to eight weeks you will need to maintain the color by touching up the roots. When maintaining your color you should only apply the bleach to your roots otherwise you will damage and dry out your already lightened hair. To reduce the amount of damage to the ends of your hair you should do a deep conditioning at least once a week.

Changing From Blonde to Brunette

You should consider a reddish brown color when you are going from blonde to brunette. Red acts as a filler whereas lighter browns cause the hair to become gray in tone and flat. Depth will also be added to your hair with the red color. Always maintain your regrowth when going to a dark color, because if you don’t the light blonde roots will make your top hair appear thin. Every four to six weeks you should touch up your roots. To prevent your hair from fading over time you should consider a color enhancing shampoo and conditioner.

Changing From Brunette to Redhead

Hair goes through several color changes if you remove the naturally dark pigment. To help this you will need a lower strength bleach to help bleach your hair from a naturally dark brown hair to a red. Using a red hair rinse or hair dye will also help to brighten your red tones. You will need to bleach your hair and then use red hair dye if you are looking for a very vibrant red color. You should also be sure to use products specially designed for dyed hair once you achieve your desired look since the red color tends to fade quickly.

Changing From Redhead to Blonde

For this transition bleach is a must. You cannot lighten red hair without using bleach to lighten it. A toner is needed to remove the red if you are trying to achieve an ashy blonde appearance.

Changing from Blonde to Redhead

Perhaps the easiest transition at this phase in hair color is to go to a bright, vibrant red. Lightened hair will always go to the more vibrant range of colors when changed. However, the color will fade quickly so you will have to touch up the color regularly if you want to keep your vibrant red color. Typically when red on blonde hair starts to fade it will look slightly pinkish in color if you don’t keep up the color. Orange color will result from those that change from blonde to coppery reds and do not keep up their color.
