Nits are Difficult to Get Rid of

Nits are the eggs laid by lice. Lice and nits are the problems that around 25 million people face every year. You have to be preventive of that if possible. It is mostly found in humid, dirty and damp hair and scalp. If you clean your scalp and hair regularly, you may not get it. However, if you get it you must start the appropriate treatment at the earliest.

Lice and nits are mainly found in children. As far as sex discrimination is concerned, it likes to be on long hired females. It also resides on smooth hair rather than curly hair, to gain grip while crawling. Lice lay eggs called as nits. The life span of a louse is nearly a month but it leaves multiple lice as heirs. A female louse lays around 50 nits in a day and this process is continued for some days. These nits are adamant and stay on hair that is near the scalp skin among the hair follicles. Then they are hatched and become nymphs, young lice. Lice live on human blood from the scalp.

There are many solutions available in the market to get rid of lice. Medicated shampoos, creams, natural oils etc are available in the market. When you use them and later on wash off your hair, will kill lice. Later on if you use fine- toothed comb will remove these lice. However these medications are not much effective on nits. So they have to be removed with combing treatment only. Also the shampoo or any other treatment as used by you should be repeated in a week and this should be done for 3-4 consecutive weeks. The nits that are hatched will turn into lice and thus will come to an end.
