Preventing Head Louse is Mostly a Matter of Awareness

It is said that prevention is better than cure. When you are away from such pests you are hale and hearty. But face a lot of depression and irritation due to head louse problem. Many people are infested with head louse today. You have to get rid of it as fast as possible. The more time you take, the more it will spread. It multiplies and spreads like fire. Hence proper check should be maintained to control head louse. Firstly all the efforts should be diverted towards preventing head louse.

Head louse is an age- old problem. Your alertness can only reward its prevention. As soon as you see something like dandruff, you must encourage proper screening in detail to confirm whether it is nits that is eggs of lice. You must be cautious. Especially if you have younger children you must take frequent screenings at regular intervals thus checking his head and hair. Children are more prone to get this a they visit school, child- care, sports center etc. On close contact with other children who has infestation may get it. When you find your child scratching head than normal, there is something wrong.

Today, a child spends a lot of time in school. This is the place where he can get head louse due to contact with other children who may be infested. Thus all the schools must take up frequent screenings of students’ hair to ensure that there is no head louse. On finding any such thing, immediately the parents should be informed. A school can play a good intermediary in preventing head louse.

Knowledge is power. With awareness many problems can be solved. Children at home should be made aware the problems that may happen due to exchanging combs, hairbrushes, caps, hats etc. If one person in the family gets head louse, others may also get it. So a good level of cleanliness should be maintained. The couch, sofas, blankets, combs should be thoroughly disinfected as soon as the affected person’s treatment starts. His things like comb, pillow etc should be isolated.

Humid, dirty and oily conditions of scalp attract head louse. You must keep your hair and scalp clean by regularly or at least twice in a week with a good regular use shampoo. This will help you in preventing head louse.
