Perfume and Cologne: They are not Synonymous FragrancesIt is to be kept in mind that perfume and cologne are not synonyms of fragrances. They enjoy their different utilities which should be well bared in mind while shopping for them. Not only the packing is different but the ingredients and constituents are also hugely different from each other. Here are certain facts as to why they are different and why man and women have a different share of fragrances. The feminine form of a fragrance is what is called as perfume; it was invented to create a pleasant and sweet smell which would allure men. It is made up of a volatile liquid derived from flowers or fruits, or sometimes it is made synthetically in the labs. Perfume is usually quite strong, and only a small dab is enough to create redolence. Depending upon the brand and the strength of the fragrance, sometimes the fragrance emanated can last up to two busy days after application. Most French perfumes were created like this, using three “notes” in the fragrance. Each note was a different scent and gives you a different aroma at the beginning of the day, lunchtime, and at the end of the day. Men’s FragranceIn sync to keep up with the tradition of exuding masculinity and strength, men’s cologne is typically made up of less sweet smells and derives from ingredients such as Fougere, Spicy and Woody diluted oils and alcohol. Cologne does not last long during the day and hence have to be applied several times. Too much of cologne put at a time can turn a nice scent into an overwhelming, nauseating experience. You can easily avail cologne any retail store you frequent. It totally depends on your choice and pocket which fragrance you would go for. The costlier it is, the stronger it will be. If you just want to smell good and are not brand or trend conscious, then you can find a numerous options at any drug store or retail shop. The main drawback with the cheaper fragrances would be that you have to apply a huge amount of it to get the effect; also, the effect fades out faster. |
