Introduction to Breast Plastic Surgery:

Saline and Silicone Gel Plants:

There are several types of implants available but mainly the two types of implants are used to increase the bust line. The plastic surgeon selects the suitable shape for improving the appearance of the breasts and may select a round shape or contoured breast implants. Round shape breast implants produces rounded appearance of the upper breast and other available breast implants may increase the slope of the breast. Most of the surgeon prefers to use saline breast implants. Saline breast implants are made of a silicone rubber filled with saline solution. At present silicone gel filled implants are used on limited basis, however the use is expected to grow in near future.

The process of breast augmentation consists of creating a pocket under the muscle or below the breast for implant by lifting the breast tissue. The plastic surgeon then carefully place the empty implant in the pocket.
