Ambulatory Phlebectomy - Treatment for Varicose Veins

The human body is made of a variety of cells, veins, muscles and body parts. Each of them has their own specific functions to perform. We cannot over rule any of them and their proper functioning is essential for the healthy progress of the body.

The process of ambulatory phlebectomy permits the exclusion of outsized surface varicosities through incisions that are extremely small and require no stitch up. The procedure is performed in combination with anti-reflux procedure and laser ablation.

Many women in America are suffering from several types of problems of vein.  However, the condition found in men is considerably less. Spider veins become more general with enhancing age, obesity, sun exposure, pregnancy, hormonal changes and leg injury.

The outsized veins that are found in the legs usually can be spotted in other places as well. They are usually dark purple or blue in color. These veins appear in the twisted form in the leg. The common places where the varicose veins can be detected are the backside of the calves or within the leg.

The indication of the varicose vein comprise weightiness in legs, swelling of leg, darkening of leg, tiring of leg, itchy legs and lack of sensation in legs. The varicose veins end to enlarge in course of time and results in skin ulcers, blood clots, rashes, infections and sores. However, the spider veins stay the same with no significant changes visible.

The incisions made in the skin are as minute as 1 mm that is used in pulling out veins with the aid of phlebectomy hook. The hook is placed in the minute incisions within the leg. The part of the vein that has to be removed is hooked and then taken out through the slit.

Following the procedure a compression bandage has to be worn for a period of two weeks. This will help in recovery and reduce the swelling as well.

After the removal of the vein, the leg is covered with a top quality dressing. The patient is then allowed to move around in the office before going back to the home. Two weeks following the surgery the bandage is taken out and the patient has to wear a stocking for hold up.

The patients who undergo this procedure are even permitted to undertake their usual routine a day after the surgery. However, a laborious activity should be withheld for at least two weeks. The result of ambulatory phlebectomy is outstanding as per the satisfaction of the patient and the cosmetic point of view.

The procedure in comparison to the conventional vein stripping method has no side effects and virtual scarring. The procedure is invasive to the minimum and is carried out under the effect of local anesthesia. The pigmentation of the skin at the location of the varicose vein occurs but it is not everlasting. The consequences following the ambulatory phlebectomy are outstanding.

Hence, varicose veins and spider veins are very essential in our body. They have their own specific importance and role needed to regulate proper functioning of our body system.
