| I am 14 years old, and a couple weeks ago I started using proactiv. I had moderate to severe acne covering my knees for four years, and I tried every other treatment my parents and I think of. I couldn't permanently get rid of it. After I bought proactiv, my acne was completely gone within a week. For those who said their acne didn't go away or became more severe, it happens because the proactiv brings the infection out and sometimes makes it worse for a while. There are still some annoying scars left, but I am so releived. I can walk out of the house with shorts, not feeling embarassed. I really love it and it may be costly but it is worth the price. I don't get acne too bad on my face, but I started using it a week ago when I had a sudden break out and now my face it smooth and clear again. The results you get depend on your type of skin, but I highly highly recommend you try it because it can it so great! | |

| I used proactiv for a couple of years and it did a pretty good job until my skin changed. I had to stop using the cleanser and toner, they dried out my skin too much and the everyday exfoliation was too much after years of use. The exfoliation irritated my skin and make me break out, but only after prolonged use. So I now use a mild cleanser, the equate brand of Neutogena's oil-free cleanser which has 2% salicylic acid, I use Neutorgena's alcohol-free toner, and the proactiv repairing lotion. And my acne went away! So I think the REAL reason proactiv works is the repairing lotion. It works great to moisturize in the summer and in winter I use it with their green tea moisture (which is FABULOUS) and my skin is great! | |

| no no no. i used proactiv for maybe 3 1/2 months and i saw no improvement! i didnt have severe acne but after seeing the info commercials, i thought proactiv would make my skin completely clear. instead, it dried out my skin and because of the high amount of benzoly proxide, it made my brown/black eyebrows red! that was the last straw once i saw it was dying my eyebrows. i stopped using proactiv and for the last 2 months i started using the new neutragena oil free acne stress scurb and at night i put on the new sopt treatment from neutragena and so far, so good. the best part is i dont have to spend $50 a month on my acne products. instead i spend about $12 which lasts for about 2 months. so dont use proactiv, it doesnt work. if youre trying to compare your skin type to mine..... im 17 and ive had acne sine i was 13. im not completely covered in acne, i have oily skin, i have sensitve skin, and proactiv couldnt help me. hope i helped. | |

| OMGHQ!!! This stuff really does work, but only if you have elephant skin on your face! I had mild to moderate acne about 2 months ago, so i was super excited when i got this product. However, when i tried it the first 2 weeks, my acne didnt improve at all and my skin got veeery dry. The lotion is the drying stuff, and very acidic, so i bought guinot pure balance cream and now combined with proactive my skin is wonderful!. I use the cleanser and toner twice a day and the lotion at every other night. during the day i use the balance cream and thats what keeps my skin from drying out. Guinot is really expensive, but it smells wonderful and keeps your face matte anyway, so its definetely my fave product along with proactiv! | |

| I'm really surprised how this product has such bad reviews. I assume it's always easier to speak the cons than pros... Well, here's my story. I was a real skeptic to the effects of Proactiv when I first found out about it through TV, and then soon later found the kiosk at the mall. I kinda feel bad cus I hammered the lady with questions about the product. I asked her if Proactiv would work on me, and she told me honestly, the only time she ever has a complaint about it is 1. if the customer is allergic to benzoyl peroxide, and 2. if it is not used properly. So I took the risk, brought it home, and well, I won't lie... I cheated. I washed with my old cleanser in the day, then used Proactiv at night. So for the first month, I cursed the product. Then I finished my old cleanser, and took used only Proactiv. I didn't pay much attention to changes. My relatives were the ones to notice an improvement in my skin. I was so shocked! This product is certainly recommended by myself, and now so, my sister. | |

Ive read other comments and havent had a prob yet with my skin be overly dry. But i only use the system once a day at night. When i first started useing it it cleared of my skin complection alot.. i dont have all the splotchy scars and marks that past acne left me. The only thing is i still get the occasionally pimple.. I dont know if the solution is helping me or not, but im still useing it. | |

| Well, I was using Proactiv for about 5 months, and it cleared up SOME of my acne.I still continued having it around my chin and jaw line though.Proactiv mostly made my face dry, sensitive, and itchy. It also made my face very red at times. All of the chemicals didn't help my skin at all!For anyone who has found the same thing, I would recommend Mychelle products that are natural and make your skin softer. It also helps with acne! | |

| I have suffered with acne since I turned 12. I'm 26 now and of course over the years things have improved, but not enough. I tried Proactiv last year and had great results for about 4 months. Then I broke out again. I've tried hard like millions of other people. I also tried the Philosophy system and have come to some conclusions. 1) I use Cetaphil to cleanse and 2)I avoid toner (if you have to use it, try witch hazel). 3) To control the acne, I actually do use the Proactiv repairing lotion (try ebay to get individual bottles for cheap). I also steam my face once a week and use a GENTLE exfoliator. When things get oily I do use a mud mask. The only other thing I do ever so often for mild scarring is that I use lactic acid on my face. Sounds like a lot...I know...I've actually cut back...lol. But it helps. Good luck all. | |

| DON'T BUY THE LIE!!!! Ever since i was 13 i had wanted proactiv, i listened to all of the ads and thought it really was "gold in a bottle" or a "miracle cure", but its not. After 6 years of not being able to get it, i finally bought it, i was thrilled when it arrived. First thing i noticed: the bottles are barbie sized! Something so small shouldn't cost so much. I started using it, but i noticed my skin was getting really dry and my acne wasn't improving AT ALL. So i started using the refining lotion only at night, even that didn't help. So i just used the mask, that helped only a little bit. It was horrible, i had dry skin on my eyelids, ugh, i've never had that problem. It was ridiculous. Its a total waste of money, it dries out skin and doesn't do anything for your acne. So, if you want DRY, FLAKY, ACNE COVERED SKIN, then this product is for you. Pay your $40 for their lie. | |

| I have been using proactiv every morning and night for one month and it did clear some spots on my cheeks but it does not prevent new breakouts! I started getting zits which I never had! I had acne marks only and little pimples and the cleanser was supposed to take acne marks away because it removes tissue but I am dissappointed that I have not seen what I was expected. I will give it one more month :-( ! | |
