I have a big ugly stye on my eye lid (upper)...It is interfering with my social life!!!! Its been over a week!!! Puffy bubbled swelling eye lid...painful sore tender....went to the doctor. He gave me drops..Bausch and Lomb Tobramyxin Opthtalmic solution usp 0.3% ..Gentax ointment and an antibiotic(pills), My swelling went down after 3 days on prescription. Now I have a huge stye and a yeast infection from all those drugs.....and my eye is really red inside so I stopped taking all the drugs and I am using hot compresses again and boric acid and water solution (nurse and pharmacist recommended to do this. So far feeling a bit better but seems I still have a lima bean stye under my upper eyelid like a bad case of the uglies!!!!!!!..I feel like a witch!!!! Will let u know...cancelled plans again!!!!

Styes are a sign that you haven't been getting enough sleep so instead of all these topical potions and remedies, see what a good night's sleep does! It worked for me and is gone within 2-3 days. zzzzz!

I either have a stye or pink eye. This is what I have been doing lately... Living in a college dorm recently, washing regularly - everything. But, I haven't been sleeping very much and I have also been straining my eyes with light either too low or too bright. Allergies are also a Chapter of my life. I'm guessing it can be caused by stress.

When you have eye stye, don't read newspapers, or glare at the TV programmes. It will irritate the eyes, and the pain will be severe in the night. Wahing with alum water is very good, as it cools the eyes.

I've got reccuring styes too, maybe its something in the air, pollution or something. Mine goes and then comes up on the other eye and I wish I didn't think everything was a conspiracy.

My mom says it might be a stye, or pink eye, but the symptoms look very much like those of a stye. I don't think it's terribly painful, it's only on my right eye, but it itches like crazy sometimes. I think it might spread to my other eye if I'm not careful, it seems to be getting bigger everyday (even though I've only had it for about two days, it's really annoying. . . . It's hard to remember to wash my hands, EVERY time I itch my eye :(. I guess I should try the hot and warm compresses again. . . but it doesn't seem to be working :( it only seems to get bigger when I do that. . .

I woke up with my eye closed shut and half of my face swollen overnight. It looks like i lost the fight..LOL.. I needed antibiotics to help. Some home remedies just don't work. Be careful when swollen it impairs your vision to drive etc.. But I wouldn't go as far as some people are saying and go ahead and kill myself, that's just immature. Just be lucky you are not fighting a deadly disease like CANCER.

I just got one and it has spread to my other eye now! I get a warm glass of water, place some salt in it and dip some cotton in it and place that over my eye with a sleeping mask over them. I only do this for a few minutes. It does get me soaking wet but my eye feels better afterwards.
