Unique Wedding FavorsOne of the most fun parts of planning a wedding is coming up with new and different ideas for wedding favors. Whether you decide to use a more traditional wedding favor or a more modern wedding table gift it will be unique in its own way. Wedding Favors Briefly Defined In case you are wondering what a wedding favor is, it is usually the small gift that is placed on each reception table setting. This small token serves a variety of different purposes. One of the most important is its symbolism of appreciation. This small gifts also provide something tangible to offer wedding guests so they are reminded of the bride and groom's special day. Traditional Wedding Favors In the past, wedding reception table settings usually included the following types of traditional favors: personalized matchbooks, two rings tied with a gold or silver ribbon, or a tiny bottle of bubbles. Other old-fashion wedding favors used in times past include engraved chocolates or dried fruit. Modern Wedding Favors One favorite traditional wedding favor has become more modernized in recent years. Chocolates are often still given wrapped in a little cardboard box or netted bag. However, sometimes instead of solid chocolate the couple will place candy-coated initialed M&M-type candy in specially-ordered colors. Guests may not be able to keep the chocolates (unless they decide to freeze it) but they will at least be able to take a picture of it or keep the wrapping that the favor came in. Another unique modern-day wedding favor that is often handed out is candles set in sea shells. These are very easy to make and candle recipes can be found on the Internet. Party favor stores may even sell these. Seashell candles are perfect for beach weddings and often are taken home by guests and placed in their bathrooms. This special wedding favor often ends up becoming one of the most memorable pieces of décor in a home. Sachets are always a nice gift as well. You can fill a velvet or velvet look-alike bag with beautifully scented dried wildflowers such as lavender or lily. Similar to the seashell candle, this item becomes a refreshing piece of decor for any room of a guest's home. Table Decorations as Wedding Favors Sometimes table decorations double as wedding favors. One of these most common parts of the place setting often becomes a gift for the guests-the napkins. Many times napkins are even personalized with the bride and groom's wedding anniversary date and their first and last names. These are one of the most inexpensive ways to offer the guest of a newlywed couple a memento. Another very inexpensive type of wedding favor that is used as a table decoration is candles. Small ones can be wrapped in a tulle with part of the end standing straight up. This simple table place accent can be accented with a ribbon tied near the base of the candle. If you purchase votive or tiny pillar candles you do not even need to place them in a holder. However, it is also possible to purchase inexpensive dinner candle holders at dollar stores. If price is no object for you, you can find unique candle holder designs at most craft stores. Summary One of the most fun parts of planning a wedding is coming up with new and different ideas for wedding favors. Whether you decide to use a more traditional wedding favor or a more modern wedding table gift it will be unique in its own way. |
